SEEKING MATERIAL FOR FUTURE EXHIBITS:

PROJECT MAH JONGG
Calling all Mah Jongg Mavens! Your beloved pastime is the subject of an upcoming exhibit at the Museum, and we need your help to add some Florida photos and memorabilia. Opening in October 2012, Project Mah Jongg will delve into the history, traditions and meanings of the game in Jewish American life from the 1920s to today. This highly popular exhibit, produced by the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, has been drawing diverse audiences and publicity from coast to coast. Submission deadline: July 1, 2012.

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD
There is no one food or food group that the Florida Jewish community can call its own. From the pierogies of Poland to the salsas of South America, our palates are as diverse as the origins of our ancestors. This exhibition will comprise Floridian Jews in the food industry involved in growing, preparing, distributing, cooking (chefs) and serving (restaurants, hotels, delis, menus) the foods we love. In Jewish life, food is often a basis for gathering with friends and family to observe and celebrate traditions and life cycle events. Submission deadline: October 15, 2012.

Please contact the Museum’s Registrar at 786-972-3176 for possible inclusion of your documents, photographs, artifacts and stories in these exhibits.. Thank you!
